PSL 2020 auction: Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020  is all set to kick start from February 14 with its auction scheduled to take place on December 6. Ahead of the players’ draft which is about to take place this month, all six franchises have released the complete list of players who have been retained and released for the fifth edition of the T20 league slated to take place early next year.

All the players from Pakistan cricket have been retained by their respective franchises ahead of the auctions, with each team keeping a maximum of eight players in possession.

Two-time PSL champions Islamabad United have retained Musa Khan, Asif Ali, and leg-spinner Shadab Khan along with Kiwi cricketer Luke Ronchi.  Lahore Qalandars, who are yet to win a PSL title, have retained the likes of Sohail Akhtar, Salman Butt, Haris Rauf, along with South African cricketer David Wiese who is currently busy with Mzansi Super League (MSL) proceedings.

Pakistan’s current T20I skipper Babar Azam has been successfully retained by Karachi Kings. The franchise has also laid faith in Mohammad Amir, Iftikhar Ahmed and all-rounder Imad Wasim for the coming season.

Two-time runners up and defending champions Quetta Gladiators have continued with Sarfaraz Ahmed in spite of former Pakistan skipper’s faltering exhibitions with the bat off late. In fact, his performances with the bat were one of the primary reasons behind his axing from the squad for the tour of Australia. Along with Sarfaraz, the Gladiators have also retained Naseem Shah, Mohammad Nawaz, Umar Akmal, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hasnain, and former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson.
