RCB should set aside INR 25 crores for Star Indian Player in IPL 2025 Auction, suggests Aakash Chopra

Rishabh Pant, one of India’s most dynamic wicket-keeper batters, will enter the IPL 2025 mega auction with a base price of INR 2 crores after being released by Delhi Capitals.

Former cricketer Aakash Chopra suggests that Royal Challengers Bengaluru should go all-in to secure Rishabh Pant in the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction.

Chopra thinks the short boundaries at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium would perfectly suit Pant’s aggressive style, and RCB should be willing to spend up to INR 25 crores on him if necessary.

Aakash Chopra Urges RCB to Go All Out for Rishabh Pant in the Upcoming Auction

Ahead of the much-anticipated IPL 2025 mega auction on November 24 and 25, Aakash Chopra has shared his thoughts on the teams most likely to bid for Rishabh Pant. He sees Royal Challengers Bengaluru as a top contender and advises them to go all out to secure Pant as their wicket-keeper.

RCB are heading into the auction with a significant budget of INR 83 crores, having retained only three players: Virat Kohli at INR 21 crores, Rajat Patidar at INR 11 crores, and Yash Dayal at INR 5 crores.

In a video on his YouTube channel, Chopra emphasized that Pant’s playing style would suit M. Chinnaswamy Stadium’s short boundaries and flat pitch. He suggested that RCB should be ready to fully commit to acquiring Pant, even if the bid goes over INR 25 crores, viewing him as a game-changing addition to the squad.

“Will you go towards Rishabh Pant? In my opinion, they should go towards him. Again a small ground, it will suit him as well. Please go for him even if you have to go till ₹25 crore,” Aakash said.

Chopra suggests Rahul as RCB’s Alternative if Pant is Too Costly

Aakash Chopra suggested that if Rishabh Pant becomes too expensive in the auction, RCB should consider KL Rahul as an alternative. He mentioned that Rahul, being a local player familiar with M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, would be a great choice for the team. However, Chopra doesn’t think Shreyas Iyer would be a likely addition to RCB.

“If you feel you don’t need Rishabh Pant and need KL Rahul because he is a local boy and knows this ground as well, he will also like the small ground and flat pitch. So you can also try to bring him with you. I don’t think this team will go that aggressively for Shreyas Iyer because they will leave him for Delhi,” he added.
