He took to social media to confirm the news with a heartwarming message and a nostalgic video.
In a recent development coming in, a former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) star who won the Indian Premier League (IPL 2016) title with the Orange Army, has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The 34-year-old took to his social media accounts to confirm the news about the same.
Siddarth Kaul, the right-arm medium-fast bowler, posted a heartwarming message with a nostalgic video showing photos from his childhood playing cricket to his growth over the years in domestic cricket and eventually the national team while sharing the stage with some of the biggest Indian stars.
Kaul wrote, “When I was a child playing cricket in the fields in Punjab, I had one dream. A dream to represent my country. In 2018, by Gods grace, I received my India Cap Number 75 in the T20i team and Cap Number 221 in the ODI team.”
Siddarth was a key member of India’s 2008 U19 World Cup-winning team, which was captained by Virat Kohli. Although he showed potential in age-group cricket, the fast bowler’s early career was marred by a series of injuries. Between December 2007 and February 2012, he played just six domestic matches across various formats.
In 2012, he began to show signs of better fitness and eventually regained his rhythm the following year.
Kaul was picked up by SRH for the 2016 IPL season and played a crucial role for the team in the subsequent year.
He made his T20I debut for India against Ireland on 29 June 2018 and went on to make his ODI debut against England on 12 July 2018.
After his time with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Siddarth also played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. However, ahead of the 2024 IPL season, he was released by RCB and went unsold at the auction.
