Underrated RCB domestic batter raises stocks for IPL 2025 auction with a Ranji Trophy ton

This century will give Lomror a much-needed boost in confidence, especially after narrowly missing out with a score of 99 against Himachal just a few weeks ago.

In the Ranji Trophy Group B match at Jaipur, Rajasthan’s Mahipal Lomror scored a century against Hyderabad.

Former RCB batter Mahipal Lomror came in for Rajasthan after the early wicket of Ram Chouhan at 27-1. He built a solid partnership with Abhijeet Tomar, helping stabilize the innings. By the close of play on day 2, Rajasthan reached 117-1, with Lomror unbeaten on 58 off 61 balls.

On day 3, Lomror continued his impressive form and scored a wonderful century off 128 balls before eventually getting out for 111 off 150 deliveries. His knock included 12 fours and 5 sixes, with his hundred coming up in memorable fashion as he hit a six while on 94.

This century will give Lomror a much-needed boost in confidence, especially after narrowly missing out with a score of 99 against Himachal just a few weeks ago. The timing couldn’t be better, with the IPL auction coming up in less than three weeks.

His strong performance not only shows that he’s in good form but also signals to franchises that he’s playing well, which could increase his value in the auction.

Lomror has played for two franchises in the IPL, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, featuring in a total of 40 matches and scoring 527 runs. In the 2024 season, he contributed 125 runs across 10 games. Though his IPL stats may not fully showcase his potential, his recent domestic form could be just what he needs to boost his confidence and catch the eye of franchises.

Lomror’s 111 Helps Rajasthan Close Gap After Hyderabad’s Big Total

Talking about the match, Hyderabad were bowled out for 410 runs in their first innings.

While, at the time of writing this report, Rajasthan are 226-4, trailing by 184 runs, thanks to a 111 from Lomror and 60 from Abhijeet Tomar.
