According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Virat Kohli underwent scans on Thursday for an ‘unspecified’ injury, raising concerns for India ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The exact nature of Kohli’s injury remains unknown, but he participated in an intra-squad simulation match on Friday. His presence on the field should ease some worries for India about the availability of their premier batter.
However, The Times of India has confirmed that Kohli is “absolutely fine” and batted without any discomfort during the match simulation, reassuring fans and the team ahead of the series.
“Virat Kohli is absolutely fine. He batted in the match simulation without any discomfort and also had a hit in the net after he got out. No concerns there,” according to TOI.

Virat Kohli was the first Indian player to arrive in Perth for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He has been training with the team for the past few days.
Former Indian captain has been going through a prolonged lean patch in Test cricket, with his last century coming against the West Indies in July 2023 at Port of Spain. During the recent home series against New Zealand, he managed just one fifty and four single-digit scores in six innings.
The 36-year-old has only two fifties in his last 14 Test innings, and across his last 60 innings, his average stands at a modest 31.7 with just two hundreds. In 2024, his average is even lower at 22.72 from six Tests.

Rahul is expected to open the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first Test, scheduled to begin on November 22 in Perth, especially if captain Rohit Sharma is unavailable. Rohit is currently training and batting in Mumbai, and his departure for the tour will depend on the birth of his second child.
