Road Safety World Series: WATCH Video – Yuvraj Singh Rewinds Clock, Smashes 4 Sixes In An Over Again

Yuvraj Singh registered four sixes in an over again in the Road Safety World Series T20 tournament on Wednesday (March 17). Playing for India Legends against West Indies Legends at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, the swashbuckling left-hander turned the clock back.

Yuvraj smashed legspinner M Nagamootoo for four sixes in the 19th over of India Legends’ innings in the tournament semi-final, nearly repeating the feat of six sixes in an over from the 2007 T20 World Cup match versus England.

It was vintage Yuvraj Singh on show as he blasted the first three balls of Nagamootoo’s over for sixes before the bowler managed to execute a dot ball. The fifth ball, however, went over the boundary ropes again. And though the bowler bowled another dot to end the over, Yuvraj had already lit up the ground with his amazing powerhitting.

Yuvraj Singh turned the clock back in Road Safety World Series T20.

Yuvraj struck a couple of sixes more in the next over facing left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn and finished his innings unbeaten 49 off just 20 balls. His magnificent knock proved to be the difference between the two sides as India Legends clinched victory in a high-scoring match by only 12 runs and booked their place in the final.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar (65), Virender Sehwag (35), Yusuf Pathan (37) and Vinay Kumar (2/26), Pragyan Ojha (1/24) also played their part in India Legends’ win apart from Yuvraj Singh.

Yuvraj had smashed four sixes in an over against South Africa Legends as well last Sunday (March 14).

“I was looking to hit the fifth consecutive six because I remember that there was one dot ball in the over. And I was waiting for the bowler to bowl in my areas,” Yuvraj had said then in the post-match press conference.

“So after the fourth six, I was looking for the fifth six but there were also two overs to go so I decided to rotate the strike and bat till the end to have a big score. The wicket was really good and South Africa had won the last game. So I wanted to bat till the end and I am happy to do that.”

Yuvraj Singh, who retired from international cricket in June 2019, played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is for India. The hero of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup wins, Yuvraj is one of the finest batsmen seen in the history of limited-overs cricket.
