List of Highest Partnerships in Ranji Trophy: Snehal Kauthankar and Kashyap Bakle Set New Record of 606 Runs

Snehal Kauthankar and Kashyap Bakle were unbeaten during the partnership before the team finally declared.

Snehal Kauthankar and Kashyap Bakle were in a record-breaking partnership for the third wicket during the Ranji Trophy Plate fixture between Goa and Arunachal Pradesh at the Goa Cricket Association Academy Ground, Porvorim. The duo stitched a massive 606-run stand in 448 deliveries, the highest-ever in a Ranji Trophy innings.

Swapnil Gugale and Ankit Bawne held this record previously in this tournament; they made an unbeaten 594-run partnership during a game between Maharashtra and Delhi at the Wankhede Stadium in 2016. That was also the third-wicket partnership between the duo, who kept this record for around eight years.

Snehal Kauthankar and Kashyap Bakle were unbeaten during the partnership before the team finally declared. Overall, it was the second-highest partnership in First Class cricket, with the highest being held by Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene.

The Sri Lankan duo weaved a 624-run stand during a Test match against South Africa in Colombo in 2006 at Colombo. The Goa batters fell 19 runs short of creating a world record, and they had a chance to do it, but the team declared the innings to bring a result and gain valuable points.

Snehal Kauthankar hits the third-fastest triple-century and Kashyap Bakle’s ninth-fastest

During the innings, Snehal Kauthankar and Kashyap Bakle registered triple tons on their way to a record stand against Arunachal Pradesh. Snehal Kauthankar hit the third-fastest triple-century in First Class cricket, reaching the milestone in 205 deliveries.

Meanwhile, Kashyap Bakle took 269 balls to complete his triple century, the ninth-fastest in First Class cricket. Indeed, it was a record-breaking match, for several records were made and broken throughout their stay.

Snehal remained unbeaten on 314 runs in only 215 deliveries, including 45 boundaries and four maximums. Kashyap scored 300 runs in 269 balls, with the help of 39 boundaries and two maximums.

It was only the second instance of two batters scoring triple centuries in the same innings in First Class cricket after WV Raman (313) and Arjan Kripal Singh (302*) in 1989. Eventually, Goa finished with 727/2 in 92 overs, enough for them to gain a comprehensive victory by an innings and 551 runs over Arunachal Pradesh.
