Sanju Samson pissed off with Rajasthan Royals’ social media gimmick | IPL 2022

Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson was a tad miffed due to the gimmicks by his team’s social media handle. The RR Twitter handle often churns out hilarious memes in order to keep their fans engaged. On Friday, March 23, RR posted a picture of Samson where he can be seen sitting on a team bus.

But the Royals edited the picture a wee bit after which Samson got irritated. The Royals captioned the picture and wrote, “Kya khoob lagte ho”. Reacting on the same, Samson said that a team should show a bit of professionalism.

Samson is one of the players the Royals retained ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction along with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler. Last year, Samson replaced Steve Smith as the skipper of the team after the latter made a move to the Delhi Capitals (DC).

Samson scored a ton against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, but his knock went in vain. Arshdeep Singh dismissed him in the final over of RR’s run-chase at the iconic venue. The Royals also failed to make it through to the playoffs.

The Royals are set to start their campaign in IPL 2022 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), led by Kane Williamson, on Tuesday, March 29 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

As far as Samson is concerned, he recently conjured praises from Ravi Ashwin, one of India’s all-time best spinners, especially in Test cricket. The veteran lauded the youngster for staying calm under pressure and not getting ruffled.

“I think Sanju has got an amazing attitude and a good head on his shoulders. He’s always open for discussion, open to opinions around the game, so that’s a great quality to have,” Ashwin said.

“I do believe Sanju has got the vantage point as a wicketkeeper to judge the game with all the angles, the pitch and how things are going to work. He also has age on his side, and will definitely get better,” Ashwin added.
