Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah was not at all pleased after his team’s defeat against associates Scotland in a preliminary round fixture of the T20 World Cup 2021 this Sunday (October 17) in Muscat.

Mahmudullah wore a sombre look about him as his team failed to chase down a target of 141 on a good batting track at Al Amerat, Oman. What would’ve added to the angst and pain is the fact that Scotland were 53/6 in the first innings at one stage.

As Bangladesh failed to make their great position count and suffered a bitter defeat in Group B of the initial stage in the tournament, their captain looked huge disappointment over the result.

But in a moment that piled on his misery, Mahmudullah also had to endure the noise and celebrations as the team anthem was sung within the Scotland camp while he went about trying to answer the difficult questions posed by the media.

Mahmudullah pauses press conference as Scotland celebrates victory over Bangladesh

At the time when Scotland led by Kyle Coetzer went about their song and dance in the dressing room, Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah was speaking to the media in the post-match press conference.

Mahmudullah was only beginning to responding to one of the questions before he stopped abruptly and let Scotland players celebrate and quieten down their celebration before resuming his answer.

The Bangladesh skipper tried his best to not reveal that he isn’t so pleased by this interruption but his face told the story.

In a clip shared over the official Cricket Scotland Twitter handle, the opposition took note of Mahmudullah’s expression and indirectly pulled his leg, reminding him and Bangladesh of their victory.

“Sorry we will keep it down next time,” they amusingly captioned the clip taken from Mahmudullah’s press conference.

Mahmudullah, who had begun his answer quite fluently, stopped the moment he heard cheers and song in the Scotland dressing room, which was in close proximity to where the press conference was being held in Oman.

At one stage within the clip, the cricketer even held his head on his right hand while wearing an expression of slight anger. But in a show of good spirits, he didn’t utter a word and only went ahead with his media response when Scotland were completely done with their song.
