WATCH: Funny Alastair Cook does weird impressions while bowling in County Championship

Alastair Cook enjoys himself on the field as he does funny impressions while bowling in the County Championship.

It is no secret that Alastair Cook is one of the greatest cricketers ever produced by England. He was a run machine in the Test format for his country and went on to successfully surpass 10,000 runs in Test cricket, a milestone only a handful of cricketers (13) have reached in their careers. In fact, he is the only person from England to reach the pinnacle of 10,000 runs with the second-best being the current England skipper Joe Root who has 9889 under his name. In 2018, Cook finally decided to hang up his boots after a 4-1 Test series victory against India in England. He finished his career with a massive 12472 runs (only the sixth cricketer to cross the 12000 run mark) along with multiple Test series and Ashes wins for his country.

Now three-plus years into his retirement, Cook is happy spending some valuable time with his family and friends while also doing commentary and playing for his county side Essex. He has been playing for Essex ever since his debut and still continues to play even after his retirement, thus symbolizing the love and passion he has for his county side. Today, when Cook took the field for Essex he thought of having fun and decided to bowl to his opponent’s teammate J Bird. We have seen him bowl a couple of times with him taking the wicket of Ishant Sharma during the 2014 India vs England test match acts as the most memorable one.

However, what we haven’t seen is that of Cook enjoying the game by doing some impressions which are rare for a character like him. He did some comical bowling action during his run-up which made others laugh.

Below is the video of Cook enjoying out in the middle with him making some funny impressions

This kind of action could have been expected from other players but definitely not from Sir Alastair Cook, who was known for being stoic during his days as an International cricketer.
