Gujarat lost Shubman Gill early as Rahul Tripathi took a one-handed catch off the bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

The 21st match of the Indian Premier League got off to a great start when Matthew Wade scored a boundary on the very first ball of Bhuvneshwar Kumar's bowling. However, the fortunes changed quickly as the third over of the match saw the in-form Shubman Gill dismissed when he tried to drive hard but ended up playing uppishly to cover where Rahul Tripathi took one of the best catches of the current season.

Tripathi who was fielding at the short covers jumped to his left-hand side and plucked out a miraculous catch. This resulted in the Gujarat Titians losing their star batsmen early as Gill was the one who had been scoring prolifically for them this season. His last two scores were 84 and 96 respectively so, therefore, getting Gill out early was a sigh of relief for the Hyderabad franchise as he can be unstoppable if given time.

Even though Gill's early wicket proved costly for the Gujarat Titans, they posted a decent toal on board with Hardik Pandya making a half-century. But, the Sunrisers Hyderabad restricted the scoring after that to deny Gujarat runs in the late overs. The below par total was never going to be quite enough, but Sunrisers Hyderabad played out the early overs smartly and went on to chase down the target with a quickfire knock from Nicholas Pooran in the death overs.

The Gujarat Titans are fifth at the points table with three wins and one loss whereas the Hyderabad team are strangling at the 8th position with only two wins in their four games. Five-time champions Mumbai Indians are at the ninth position with them yet to get off their mark while defending champions and four-time champions Chennai Super Kings finish the points table last with them also not securing a single win in this tournament.
