Angry Virat Kohli vents his frustration on water boxes after another cheap dismissal in Pune Test [WATCH]

Probably, Kohli was also angry about the umpire’s decision, for the ball looked to be going down leg from the initial view, but the on-field umpire raised his finger.

Virat Kohli was furious after getting out in the fourth innings and let his frustration known while walking back to the pavilion. As he was going back, he hit his bat on water boxes put on the sidelines, which might have been broken since Kohli thwacked it hard in anger.

Meanwhile, the spectators watching him from the up tried cheering Kohli by calling his dismissal “hard luck”, but the batter knew India needed him the most in this innings. He was looking good and was slowly settling in before he succumbed to a delivery by Mitchell Santner.

Probably, Kohli was also angry about the umpire’s decision, for the ball looked to be going down leg from the initial view, but the on-field umpire raised his finger. When he took the review to challenge the decision, the ball showed just clipping on the leg stump, so the umpire’s call remained and Kohli had to walk back.

Maybe the decision maker should have given it not out, but that’s how the game goes. Kohli should also be frustrated for playing that ball off the backfoot, for Santner bowled a length delivery which skidded after landing and hit the batter’s pad, and he should have played it by coming on the front foot.

Virat Kohli fails to build on last match’s improvements

During the first Test in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli played with a much better technique and handled spinners well. He looked determined and set to have a big series by piling on runs like he used to at his peak, but the next Test didn’t transpire according to the expectations.

During the first innings, Kohli missed a full toss while looking to whack it across the line to lose his stumps. His dismissal in the second dig came due to an error in judging the line, for Kohli went back to a skiddy length delivery and was out LBW.

He can blame the umpire for that harsh decision but could have handled that ball better. His scores in two innings read: 1 & 17.

There’s still a Test match to go in this series, and Kohli will finish it on a high. It will give him the much-required confidence for the Australia series.
