Former KKR teammates Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana shared some on-field banter during the Perth Test.

In the 30th over of Australia’s innings, Harshit Rana bowled several short balls that made Mitchell Starc duck and jump to avoid them. During this, Starc reminded Rana who the faster bowler is between them.

As Harshit Rana walked back to his bowling mark, Mitchell Starc teased him by claiming he bowls faster.

“Harshit, I bowl faster than you. I bowl faster than you,” Starc said.

Starc didn’t stop there and warned Harshit Rana to be ready for fast and short balls when it was his turn to bat.

“I’ve got a long memory,” Starc added.

Harshit Rana simply smiled in response, and the exchange seemed friendly between the two.

Eventually, Harshit Rana had the last laugh, taking the wicket of Mitchell Starc in the second ball of the 52nd over. He bowled a good-length delivery on off, and Starc attempted to slog but miscued it with a thick edge. The ball went high in the air, and Pant signaled the gully fielder out of his way as he calmly settled under the catch. No mistake from Pant.

Starc faced the most balls by any player in this Test, playing 112 deliveries for his 26 runs.

Bumrah Strikes Early on Day 2 to Complete Five-Wicket Haul

India opted to bat first in Perth but were bowled out for just 150 in their first innings. Despite the low total, stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah turned the game around with a brilliant bowling display on Day 1. He dismissed Nathan McSweeney, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, and Pat Cummins, putting India in a strong position.

Bumrah continued his fine form on Day 2, striking with his very first ball to remove Alex Carey, who edged to Rishabh Pant behind the stumps. This wicket secured Bumrah his 11th five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

Australia are all out for 104, giving India a lead of 46 runs. Bumrah took 5 wickets, Harshit Rana claimed 3, and Mohammed Siraj took 2 wickets. India will aim to extend their lead when they bat in their second innings.
