Hardik's disappointment was turned into a laughter after Rahul Tewatia's heroics in PBKS vs GT match of IPL 2022

Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans played out an absolute last-ball thriller on Friday (April 8). Rahul Tewatia sensationally smashed two sixes off the last two balls off Odean Smith to take the Titans over the line. Overall, the Titans scored 19 runs in the final over to chase down 190 and make it a hat-trick of wins in the ongoing IPL season.

However, everything wasn’t cozy as it seemed in the end when the last over started. Smith started off with a wide. But he delivered a back of a length delivery away from David Miller which the latter missed. However, Miller and Hardik Pandya tried to steal a bye and in the process, the GT skipper got run-out. Jonny Bairstow affected the run-out from behind the stumps superbly.

Hardik wasn’t pleased at all with the dismissal and he clearly expressed his displeasure towards Miller before walking back. He continued to vent his frustration after walking back to the dugout and was seen throwing away his helmet and gloves with the team in deep trouble despite having the chase under control for most parts of it.

Things turned only worse for the Gujarat Titans as the equation soon came down to improbable 12 runs off the last two balls with Rahul Tewatia on strike. Well what panned down later was unthinkable. Tewatia turned Brabourne Stadium into Sharjah anticipating lengths from Odean Smith and smashing him for sixes off both the deliveries to heroically take his team over the line.

The scenes post his heroics were unbelievable with his GT teammates running towards him on the field. At the same time, Hardik Pandya’s disappointment turned into a smile as he sat in the dugout not believing what he saw. Even as the whole team rushed towards Tewatia to celebrate, Hardik just kept laughing before finally getting up to shake hands with the opposition.
