Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf on Friday (February 25) recorded the fastest delivery bowled in the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Playing the all-important Eliminator 2 against Islamabad United, the Lahore Qalandars right-arm seamer clocked a jaw-dropping 154.70 km/h at the speed gun.
Making it easily the quickest delivery in PSL 2022 and inarguably one of the fastest balls ever delivered in T20 cricket history.

Haris Rauf played an important role in Lahore Qalandars’ win over Islamabad United.
Haris Rauf broke his own previous record for the tournament, where he had earlier clocked 153.80 km/h for one of his deliveries.
Notably, both of Rauf’s fastest balls were quicker than ones recorded at the speed guns for promising Indian fast-bowler Umran Malik and New Zealand’s express quick Lockie Ferguson during the IPL 2021.
Haris Rauf bowled the fastest delivery of this PSL season – 154.70. He broke his own record this season, had bowled at 153.80 earlier. In the IPL last season, Umran Malik bowled at 152.95, while Lockie Ferguson clocked at 153.63. Haris is extremely brisk! #HBLPSL7

Rauf contributed a key spell of 2 for 31 off his 4 overs in Qalandars’ memorable come-from-behind victory on the night. He took the key wickets of Alex Hales and Asif Ali in helping Qalandars restrict United below the 169-run target.
Not just with the ball, the cricketer shined in the field as well. Rauf secured one of PSL’s most exciting catches at the start of United’s run-chase. Placed at the deep fine-leg region, Rauf helped dismissed the dangerous Paul Stirling, who flicked a ball from Shaheen Afridi to his right-hand side. The pacer rapidly covered his ground and made the grab look so much easier than it was.

Haris Rauf was so overwhelmed by Qalandars’ great comeback in the match that he couldn’t help but shed a tear or two once they completed their 6-run heist despite posting a less-than-ideal score of 168/7.
You expect player’s like Haris Rauf who play the game with so much of passion and try to give whatever they’ve in their tank to turn up big time and contribute in every way possible waypic.twitter.com/QDhj79v1RO

Haris Rauf has been a key contributor to Qalandars’ run till the final of the tournament, taking 15 wickets from his 12 innings. The pacer will be hoping to perform one last time this season and help Qalandars pull off the finale against Multan Sultans on Sunday (February 27).
