The ball to Head seamed 1.36 degrees whereas the average seam on the pitch has only been around 0.8 degrees.
Talented young pacer Harshit Rana, who earned his India debut in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series opener in Perth, bowled a dream delivery to claim his maiden Test wicket.
Rana’s first-ever victim in international cricket was dangerous Australian batter Travis Head. Harshit bowled a jaffa to outfox Head and it was the perfect comeback for the Indian, who had been hit for two boundaries by the Aussie in his previous over.
It was a teasingly full-length delivery and Head wasn’t sure if to come forward or stay back. The left-hander ended up stuck in the crease, back foot well behind as the ball whirred past the outside edge due to the seam movement and dinked top of off to send the bails flying.
To put it into perspective, the ball to Head seamed 1.36 degrees whereas the average seam on the pitch has only been around 0.8 degrees.

Speaking about the match, Rana’s wicket further helped the Indian bowlers’ fightback after a subpar batting performance. Head was the fourth Aussie wicket to fall as they were reduced to 31 for 4 in just the 12th over.
Apart from Harshit Rana, India’s stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah has led the bowling charge from the front, claiming three wickets so far.
Earlier, the Indian batters struggled against the Australian pacers and were bundled out for just 150. Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy was the top performer with a gritty 41.
At the time of writing this report, the Australian scoreboard read 47 for 5 in 20.5 overs with Marnus Labuschagne and Alex Carey at the crease.
