Harshit Rana delivered a masterful spell to bring India back with a bang.
Harshit Rana bowled two beautiful deliveries to dismiss Jack Clayton and Oliver Davies in the space of three deliveries during the game between Prime Minister’s XI and India in Canberra. Both deliveries were nearly unplayable, and the batter could hardly do anything to survive on such balls.
He first bowled a back-of-a-length delivery on the fourth stump line, and the ball came in sharply and hurried the batter off the deck. Clayton was caught in his crease, and the ball crashed the stumps before he could bring his bat down to lose his wicket.
Two deliveries later, Rana bowled a fuller-length delivery on the middle stump line, and the ball kept coming in with the angle. Davies tried to play it with the angle but couldn’t get his bat on the shot and the stumps behind him were rattled in a flash.

India were slightly on the back foot after a partnership for the third wicket, but Rana provided India with a perfect comeback. He bowled ideal lines and lengths, and the opponent batters couldn’t do much apart from losing their wickets one after another in Canberra.
After winning the toss, India opted to field first and bowled exceptionally well to start with the pink ball. They got two early wickets, as Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep provided them with big early breakthroughs before a 109-run partnership between Sam Konstas and Jack Clayton to bring the Prime Minister’s XI back on track.
However, Harshit Rana delivered a masterful spell to bring India back with a bang. He snared four wickets in his two overs to derail the opponent’s innings. He targeted the stumps, and the pink ball did just enough to aid him.
Later, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja also got a wicket each to restrict the Prime Minister’s XI to a mere 240 in the first innings. It was a collective effort from Indian bowlers, who were brilliant from the first over.
Their batters will now get some batting practice with the pink ball that moves slightly more than the red ball. It will be vital before the Day-Night Test against Australia in Adelaide.
