India A pacer loses cool after ball change request denied by umpires during AUS A vs IND A match [WATCH]

This wasn’t the first controversy over the ball's condition in the series.

The ongoing AUS A vs IND A series was hit with another controversy regarding the ball earlier today during the second unofficial Test match.

Tensions flared between the on-filed umpires and pacer Prasidh Krishna after his request for a ball change was denied.

In the 28th over of Australia A’s innings, Prasidh Krishna looked dissatisfied with the condition of the ball and approached umpire Gerard Abood, requesting a replacement. Abood, however, dismissed Krishna’s concerns and instructed the play to continue.

Former Australian cricketer Rob Quiney, commentating at the time, remarked that Krishna looked visibly “unhappy.”

As the over progressed, Krishna’s frustration became more evident. When Marcus Harris, Australia A’s leading scorer, defended a delivery back to him, Krishna forcefully threw the ball towards Harris, causing two overthrows.

Prasidh Krishna finishes as highlight performer for India

This wasn’t the first controversy over the ball’s condition in the series. During the opening Test, the India A players faced a ball-tampering allegation from on-field umpire Shawn Craig.

The incident occurred before the start of play on the final day, with Craig changing the ball. When the Indian players inquired about the decision, Craig accused them of scratching it.

Speaking about the match, Krishna emerged as India A’s standout bowler, finishing with figures of 4 for 50, while Mukesh Kumar (3/41) and Khaleel Ahmed (2/56) also contributed key wickets.

For Australia A, Marcus Harris led with a determined 74, strengthening his claim as a contender to partner Usman Khawaja at the top in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

India A faced challenges in their second innings, ending the day at 73 for 5. Dhruv Jurel, who had scored a notable fifty in the first innings, helped India A reach 73/5 at stumps, holding a narrow lead of 11 runs.
