The incident occurred on the third ball of the last over in the first innings when Irshad bowled a full-length yorker outside off, which Odean Smith struck firmly to long-off and called for a quick second run.
Adil Rashid pushed hard to make his ground, but David, stationed at the boundary, reacted swiftly. He collected the ball cleanly and unleashed a pinpoint throw to the bowler’s end, leaving Rashid well short of his crease.
Tim David was purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 3 crore after being released by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.

Delhi Bulls emerged victorious in the Abu Dhabi T10 Eliminator 1 after a solid all-round performance. Winning the toss, the Bulls chose to bowl, and their pacers delivered effectively.
Muhammad Rohid Khan led the attack with 2/27, while Fazalhaq Farooqi, Shahid Bhutta, and Salman Irshad each claimed a wicket, restricting UP Nawabs to 98/7 in their 10 overs.
In response, the Bulls suffered an early setback with James Vince’s dismissal but recovered swiftly. A vital 67-run partnership between Shadab Khan and Tom Banton set the stage for the chase.
Skipper Rovman Powell then provided the finishing touches, while Banton, who scored a brilliant half-century off 22 balls, hit the winning runs to secure the victory for the Bulls as they won the match by 8 wickets.
