During the eighth over of the second innings, Nitish Kumar Reddy pulled off a brilliant diving catch to dismiss Tagenarine Chanderpaul. Mohammed Siraj bowled a short delivery to the left-handed Chanderpaul, who tried to play a pull shot but was cramped for room.
The ball went high off the bat towards square leg, where Nitish Reddy threw himself and took a superb two-handed diving catch. Chanderpaul was out for 8 runs off 23 balls, including one four.
Nitish’s opportunities with the ball have been limited, as he bowled just four overs in the first innings. He didn’t get to bat either, as India declared, but the young all-rounder made a statement by taking a brilliant catch, showing he can impact the game in many ways.

Earlier, India’s bowlers had completely dominated West Indies in the first innings, dismissing them for just 162 runs. Mohammed Siraj led the attack with 4 wickets for 40 runs, while Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with 3 wickets for 42 runs. After putting West Indies under pressure with the ball, India’s batters took control and scored over 400 runs on Day 2. KL Rahul made 100, his first home Test century since 2016. Dhruv Jurel scored his maiden Test hundred with 125 runs, and Ravindra Jadeja added 104 not out, continuing his great form in 2025. Their combined efforts gave India a massive first-innings lead of 286 runs, after which captain Shubman Gill declared overnight.
The Indian bowlers continued their strong performance in the first session, taking five wickets and putting West Indies under heavy pressure. The visitors were 66/5 in their second innings, still 220 runs behind. Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj took one each, leaving India close to victory.
