Ashwin takes revenge on Glenn Phillips with an unplayable carrom ball after getting hit for two sixes [WATCH]

Ashwin's delivery absolutely outfoxed the Kiwi batter as he missed the line of the ball.

Ravichandran Ashwin left New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips absolutely bewildered after knocking over his stumps with an unplayable carrom ball on Day 2 of the ongoing IND vs NZ 3rd Test.

The incident happened on the penultimate ball of the 33rd over of New Zealand’s second innings. It was a gutsy comeback from the veteran Indian spinner who had been hit for two sixes earlier in the over.

Ashwin’s delivery absolutely outfoxed the Kiwi batter as he missed the line of the ball and it went over and toppled the timber. Ashwin could be seen aggressively celebrating by jumping and throwing punches in the air after getting the breakthrough.

Phillips returned to the dressing room after scoring a brisk 26 runs off 14 balls, featuring one four and three sixes. His dismissal left New Zealand in a tough spot, standing at 103 runs with six wickets down.

India enjoy upper hand

Speaking about the match, the Indian team have shown a strong intent to press hard for a win and avoid a whitewash after already losing the series and going 2-0 down.

At the time of writing this report, New Zealand’s second innings scoreboard read 170 for 8 in 42 overs with Ajaz Patel and Matt Henry currently at the crease.

The Kiwis lead by 142 runs and India will be eager to get the final two remaining wickets and wrap up the New Zealand innings as quickly as possible.
