Rohit Sharma gives update on Rishabh Pant’s injury

Rohit Sharma provided an update on Rishabh Pant’s injury after day two of the first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru.

Pant had copped a hit on the kneecap and incidentally on the same one that was surgically treated after his car accident in late 2022. This is just Pant’s second Test series after return having featured in the Bangladesh series.

“Unfortunately, the ball hit straight on his kneecap, the same leg which he’s done a surgery on. So he has got a little bit of swelling on it. It’s tender at this point in time, so it is a precautionary measure. That was the reason for him to go inside. Hopefully, he can recover.”
