WATCH: Rory Burns bowls flaunting long, wavy hair, reminiscent of MS Dhoni bowling against Pakistan

The newest edition of the County Championship got underway on April 7. With England’s Test team in reset mode, this season provides a great chance to the players to put in strong performances in the domestic circuit to make it to the national team in the longest format. Rory Burns, who plays for Surrey, is one of them who has lost his place in the side but has every chance to make a comeback.

However, the left-handed batter was trending on the final day of the game against Warwickshire for some entirely different reason. With no result expected in the game, Surrey skipper Rory Burns took the ball in his hands late in the day and hilariously flaunted his long and wavy hair.

It was all smiles in the middle when he ran to bowl his medium pace deliveries to the batters in the middle. Interestingly, Burns’ long hair was reminiscent of MS Dhoni bowling in the early days of his international career. 

Dhoni flaunted his long hair at the early stages of his career and was known to play swashbuckling knocks with the bat. But not many are aware that he bowled at times as well. Burns’ wavy hair just brought back the same memories of Dhoni from 2006 who flaunted his hair while on the field.

Interestingly, MS Dhoni bowled 16 overs in his Test career of 90 matches. The video shows him during India’s tour of Pakistan when the hosts had piled up a lot of runs in their first innings in almost every game.

As for Burns, he didn’t impress much with the bat opening the innings for Surrey. He scored 41 runs before getting out to Danny Briggs while in the second innings, the southpaw remained unbeaten on 22 before the captain decided to shake hands for a draw. To have any chance of coming back into the Test side, Burns will have to convert his starts into big scores on a consistent basis.
