Sanju Samson’s six inadvertently struck a female fan, leaving her visibly distressed [WATCH]

The woman was in serious pain immediately and started crying, and her weeping face was visible a ball later.

Sanju Samson hit a six on the second delivery of the tenth over that went on to hit the face of a lady standing in the crowd. It was a slot-length delivery on the leg-stump line, to which Samson got underneath and whacked it over the deep midwicket region for a maximum.

However, as the ball reached into the spectators’ area, it hit the fence and re-bounced straight on a woman’s face. She wasn’t watching the ball, so she couldn’t do anything to save her, resulting in a serious blow.

The woman was in serious pain immediately and started crying, and her weeping face was visible a ball later. Someone from the crowd passed a packet of ice packs to rub on the injured part, and a person was seen applying it on her face, with tears coming out of her eyes.

It was really a serious blow, more so because it was sudden, and the batter hit the ball ferociously. Samson was concerned for her well-being, had a polite inquiry with his gestures immediately and was later seen apologising for an unwanted mistake.

Sanju Samson hits a magnificent ton in the fourth T20I

Sanju Samson was at his threatening best against South Africa in the fourth T20I, hitting a remarkable ton to become the first-ever batter to make three T20I centuries in a year. He was coming on the back of consecutive ducks but didn’t show any effects in this game.

He remained unbeaten on a score of 109 runs in 56 balls, comprising six boundaries and nine maximums, at a strike rate of 194.64. His knock ensured India posted a whopping 283/1 in their allotted 20 overs – the second-most against a Full member side in the shortest format.

Several records were made and broken during this knock, and his partnership with Tilak Varma was historic. The duo stitched a 210-run stand between them – the highest-ever by an Indian pair in T20Is.

Later, India put on a collective bowling show and defended the target easily to win the series 3-1. It was an all-round performance from the team to clinch an away rubber against a strong South African outfit.
