Sarfaraz Khan’s maiden century celebration leaves Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli in splits [WATCH]

Sarfaraz roared back to form despite getting out on a duck in the first innings.

Talented batter Sarfaraz Khan scripted his maiden international ton on Day 4 of the ongoing IND vs NZ 1st Test.

The 26-year-old gave a sheer testament to his batting prowess as he roared back to form despite getting out on a duck in the first innings.

While Sarfaraz played a brilliant knock, it was his celebration after completing the century that stole the limelight. The dynamic right-hander removed his helmet, let out a roar, and waved his bat, displaying it to the dressing room, the crowd, and the heavens. He then ran across the infield with his arms raised in celebration.

The entire Indian dressing room was on their feet to celebrate Sararaz’s century but India skipper Rohit Sharma along with Virat Kohli and others were later seen bursting into uncontrollable laughter after watching a replay of the celebration. Rohit even almost fell from his seat.

India script a commendable fightback

The hosts have put up a resilient batting display to make amends for their dismal performance in the first innings where they were bundled out for a paltry 46 – India’s lowest ever team total in Tests at home.

The Kiwis managed to capitalise and posted 402 runs, establishing a big lead of 356 runs.

However, the Indian batters showed great composure to put India back into the contest with some incredible batting.

A chief architect for India’s comeback is Sarfaraz Khan, who apart from scoring a century also stitched a game-changing partnership of 136 runs with Virat Kohli.

India have now reduced New Zealand’s lead to under 100 and have a solid chance to churn out a win and script one of the biggest comebacks in the history of the game.
