The Proteas achieved the milestone in style by smashing a boundary.
During the ongoing BAN vs SA 2nd Test, Proteas opener Tony de Zorzi brought out the ‘cold’ celebration after slamming his maiden Test century.
Zorzi, who remained unbeaten on Day 1 of the Test on 141* achieved the milestone in style by smashing a boundary off Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the 55th over of SA’s first innings.
Following the ton, the 27-year-old imitated Chelsea player Cole Palmer, who has made the celebration famous. Zorzi rubbed his biceps as he grinned while looking at his teammates in the dugout.

Interestingly, his first-ever three figure score in the longest format came in his eighth Test after missing out on a ton twice against West Indies, scoring 85 and 78 in 2023 and 2024, respectively.

Speaking about the match, South Africa took command on Day 1 of the second Test against Bangladesh, thanks to respective tons Tony de Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs’s (106) impressive batting efforts.
South Africa finished with 307/2 on the scoreboard, with Zorzi (141*) and David Bedingham (18*) both at the crease. The sole Bangladesh bowler to get a breakthrough was Taijul Islam, who dismissed captain Aiden Markram for 33 runs and then Tristan Stubbs.
After a seven-wicket win in the first Test, South Africa leads the two-match series 1-0. Notably, Kyle Verreynne’s century and Kagiso Rabada’s nine-wicket haul were crucial in the opening match.
The Proteas aim to secure back-to-back Test series victories, having recently defeated the West Indies 1-0 in August. They previously won series against Bangladesh in 2003 and 2007/08, with a 0-0 draw in 2015.
Meanwhile, Najmul Hossain Shanto’s Bangladesh will strive to avoid another series defeat after being swept 0-2 by India.
