During the ongoing IND vs NZ 1st Test, New Zealand managed to get a massive breakthrough on the final ball of Day 3 by getting the big wicket of former India skipper Virat Kohli.
Kohli, who was looking in good form after notching up 70 runs looked extremely animated the moment the umpire raised his finger.
The dynamic right-hander edged one back to the wicketkeeper Tom Blundell with the faintest of touches off his bat. Although Kohli decided to challenge the decision, replays showed a slight spike as the ball went past Kohli’s bat.

Kohli formed a match-saving partnership of 136 runs alongside Sarfaraz Khan to make amends for India’s early setback in the first innings where they got bundled out for 46, their lowest-ever team total in Tests at home.

Speaking about the match, India put up a stellar batting display to finish Day 3 at 231 for 3, having reduced New Zealand’s lead to 125 runs from a massive 356.
All the India batters managed to get going so far. Openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal showed their intent right from the beginning with a 72-run stand while Rohit also completed his fifty.
While India lost both the openers in a span of five overs, it was then Virat Kohli, who took on the onus of propelling the India scoreboard. Sarfaraz Khan also complemented to the India star from the other end and remained unbeaten on 70*.
Although Kohli’s wicket will give the Kiwis a major confidence boost when they walk in to the ground on Day 4, India have scripted a solid fightback and can actually turnaround their fortunes and churn out a win in this game.
