Watch: Batter in pain after being hit on unmentionables in ECS Portugal 2022; gets out next ball
The match played in the European Cricket Series (ECS) 2022 in Portugal saw a batter get hit on his unmentionables after a throw from the deep end. Despite no fault of his, the batter received the throw made by the on-side fielder in full force onto his crotch and was seen ruffled by the moment so much that he lost his wicket off the very next ball.
Poor fellow involved in the funny incident was MD Shaikat batting for the Indian Royals against the Brothers XI Portugal. Intent on hitting big in the weather-interrupted 10-over contest playing on a matting wicket, Shaikat smashed a short-pitched delivery from pacer Aman Manhas through the on-side.
A fielder placed in the deep mid-wicket region couldn’t grab the ball in the first attempt and that gave Shaikat and his batting partner Amandeep Khokhar an opportunity to get across for two extra runs.
But just as Shaikat was about to finish off the third run and get to the other end, the throw from the deep came straight for his crotch and left him in huge pain in the ECS 2022 game.

Another hilarious incident from the ECS Portugal tournament
The incident took place near the close of the rain-marred fixture where Indian Royals were chasing a DLS adjusted target after Brothers XI Portugal had posted a whopping 108 for 6 in their 10 overs in the ECS 2022 fixture.
Batting 24 not out off his first 6 balls at that point, Shaikat was on the look out for more big hits that would’ve allowed the Royals to gain a position of strength.
But soon, Shaikat went down with excruciating pain as the throw from the on-side crashed onto his unmentionables in the funniest scenes on the cricket field.

The commentators on duty for this ECS 2022 game couldn’t control their laughter the moment the ball hit Shaikat where he wouldn’t have wanted. The batter did complete the third run but was down in visible pain. His partner also couldn’t help but smile in the moment before checking on if everything is fine.
Despite taking extra time before facing the next ball, Shaikat could never really regather his strength and resume his innings with the same level of concentration. And, to add to his misery, the batter got caught off the very next delivery after top-edging an attempted pull shot to the short cover fielder.
