Jaiswal didn’t miss providing a light-hearted moment amidst an intense cricket action on Day 2 in Perth.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Marnus Labuschagne were involved in a hilarious exchange during the fifth delivery of the 44th over. Mitchell Marsh bowled a length delivery, to which Jaiswal defended near Labuschagne, who quickly picked the ball.
Jaiswal ran a few hards before coming near his crease, but Labuschage had a sigh at the stumps, pretending to run Jaiswal out. Jaiswal didn’t hold back and deliberately remained a few yards out of the crease to tease Marnus.
Marnus again gestured hitting the stumps, and Jaiswal put his front forward but didn’t make it to his crease. The incident lasted a few seconds, and the on-air commentators couldn’t resist laughing it off.

Jaiswal generally doesn’t get involved in banter, but he has this cheeky side of having a go at someone trying to tease him and didn’t miss providing a light-hearted moment amidst an intense cricket action on Day 2 in Perth. Even Labuschagne enjoyed this playful banter, and the fans across social media platforms were reminded of a similar exchange between David Warner and Ravindra Jadeja in IPL 2023 during the game between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings.
India removed three wickets quickly early on Day 2 and bundled Australia on a mere 104 to get a vital 46-run lead in the first innings. In reply, India’s openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal were solid in the second dig and tired Aussie quicks.
They batted with the intent to play a long innings on the crease and were attentive to leave anything outside the off-stump line and block anything on the stumps. They also pounced on every loose delivery and ensured scoring runs in between to give a stable start from the top.
Jaiswal was out on a duck in the first innings but was solid in the second dig, working on learnings from the low score early in the game. Meanwhile, Rahul, who batted brilliantly in the first innings, was rock solid and batted beautifully again.
The duo stitched an unbeaten 172-run stand for the opening wicket, helping India lead by 218 runs. They will look to continue batting and put India in a winning situation tomorrow.
