Everything you need to know about India Women’s tour of Sri Lanka 2022, featuring three T20Is and as many ODIs.
India Women are currently in Sri Lanka for a multi-format series against the hosts, featuring three T20Is in Dambulla followed by as many ODIs in Pallekele. It’s a fresh start to a new era to the team, especially on the ODI front, with former captain Mithali Raj having announced her retirement from international cricket earlier this season.
Sri Lanka Women’s last assignment was in Pakistan in May-June, wherein they were clean swept 3-0 in T20Is, and lost the ODI series by a 1-2 margin, after having secured a 93-run win in the final game of the tour. The Indian team hasn’t played international cricket since the conclusion of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 in New Zealand in March-April, where they finished fifth, narrowly missing out on a semi-final finish.
Harmanpreet Kaur will lead India in both the formats, while Chamari Athapaththu will captain Sri Lanka.
