Watch: The most nonchalant of catches in ECS Stockholm; the fielder strolls his way to a grab
The amusing own world of the European Cricket Series (ECS) threw up another interesting on-field incident, as a fielder in the series’ Stockholm edition pulled off the most nonchalant of catches.
The fielder almost strolled his way to a take on the off-side after a full-blooded heave from the opposition camp towards his direction. Placed in the cover region for the ECS Stockholm game, the fielder went at the ball with his left hand and pulled off an effortless grab.
The absolutely brilliant catch was seen during an ECS Stockholm league game between Hammarby and Alby Zalmi. Fielding for Zalmi inside the 30-yard circle, the fielder nearly strolled his way towards the ball and pulled off a magnificent grab to help his team earn another important breakthrough.
ECS Stockholm witnesses an effortless catch
The catch was taken by Zalmi fielder Qudratullah Mir Afzal at the cover region off the bat of the opposition batter K Mehmoodzai, who absolutely smashed the daylight out of a delivery outside the off-stump from J Dawoodzai.
But Mir Afzal still managed to get around the ball to his far right and took one of the better catches seen at the ECS Stockholm. Seeing the right-hand batter sky the ball towards the extra cover region with the intention to find a boundary, Mir Afzal got into his act quickly and went on to take a superb catching.

A clip of the incident was posted over social media by ECS’ official Instagram handle, with fans left amazed by, not so much the catch, but the ease and the nonchalance of the catch by Mir Afzal, especially as he later celebrated as if it was just another take for him on the cricket field.
This, of course, was not the first and certainly not the last fielding effort from the ECS T10 series in Stockholm to leave fans amazed and amused. The tournament has been a gift that keeps on giving on that front.
