Wanindu Hasaranga (Rajasthan Royals – INR 5.25 crores)

The leg-spinning all-rounder was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for an impressive INR 5.25 crore. Known for his match-winning performances in limited-overs cricket, the wrist-spinner has become a standout talent in the T20 format.

Hasaranga offers significant value to the team with his skills both with the ball and the bat. Renowned for his wicket-taking prowess, the left-arm leg-spinner can excel on any pitch, posing him as a constant threat to opposition batters.

In addition to his bowling, Hasaranga is a dependable batter who enhances the RR lineup with his ability to add depth to the batting order. His powerful lower-order hitting enables him to score runs quickly when needed. With his all-round capabilities, he brings balance to the squad and is expected to be a vital player for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025.

Maheesh Theekshana (Rajasthan Royals – INR 4.4 crores)

Another Sri Lankan addition the RR squad is that of off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana for a deal valued at INR 4.40 crore. Theekshana previously played three IPL seasons (2022-2024) with the Chennai Super Kings.

The 24-year-old has claimed 25 IPL wickets in 27 matches, maintaining an average above 30 and also securing a four-wicket haul. Theekshana is anticipated to take on the role of the Royals’ lead spinner.

Nuwan Thushara (Royal Challengers Bengaluru – INR 1.6 crores)

The slinging fast bowler has joined RCB for a price of INR 1.60 crore after representing the Mumbai Indians in the previous season.

Historically, one of RCB’s biggest challenges has been their struggles with death bowling. Thushara has the potential to address this issue with his accurate yorkers and ability to consistently take wickets. Equipped with a full arsenal of variations essential for the T20 format, he is well-suited to thrive on flat pitches at RCB’s home ground. The Sri Lankan pacer could prove to be a pivotal player for the team, bringing much-needed balance to their bowling attack.

Eshan Malinga (Sunrisers Hyderabad – INR 1.2 crores)

The 23-year-old Sri Lankan pacer, who is yet to debut for the national team, was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for INR 1.20 crore.

A right-arm fast-medium bowler, Eshan Malinga is heralded as a rising star. He has showcased his versatility and talent while representing the Sri Lanka A team and also boasts of an impressive track record in domestic cricket.

His T20 performances further highlight his prowess, boasting an economy rate of 7.35 and a strike rate of 17.6. These statistics underline his ability to restrict runs and claim crucial wickets under pressure.
