Kamlesh Nagarkoti continues to be outstanding in the field, be it for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) or his new franchise the Delhi Capitals (DC).

Playing opportunities may not have arrived at Kamlesh Nagarkoti's doorsteps since his inclusion in the Delhi Capitals (DC) set-up for IPL, but the Indian speedster continues to give his heart and soul on the cricket field.

One of the better young fielders in the IPL, Nagarkoti took a superb diving catch after coming in as a substitute during his team's league stage encounter against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Mumbai on Wednesday (May 11).

Fielding at deep point, the uncapped Indian player went for a valiant front dive to secure one of the better grabs seen in IPL 2022. Kamlesh Nagarkoti made the catch look easier than it was after RR batter Devdutt Padikkal ended up miscuing his attempted big shot against pacer Anrich Nortje.

Kamlesh Nagarkoti's exceptional diving catch

Throwing the kitchen sink at a full but wide ball from Nortje, Padikkal got an insignificant connection on his stroke down the ground and spliced the ball infront of the Kamlesh Nagarkoti, who sprinted and took an outstanding low catch. The ease at which Nagarkoti went to the ball and secured the difficult take was telling of his natural athleticism and fielding brilliance.

The catch was seen at the start of the 19th over in RR's first-innings. Batting set at 48 off 29 at the time, Padikkal was perhaps done by the pace and line of the ball from Nortje and couldn't find the desired connection.

The batter may have still escaped a caught dismissal had it not been for some great piece of fielding from Nagarkoti, who ran in from the deep and took one of the better catches seen at this year's edition of the IPL.

While Padikkal was intending to go squarer from where Kamlesh Nagarkoti was placed, an unintentional splice off the willow on a widish delivery from Nortje took the ball straight towards the fielder.

Still, Nagarkoti had to make up a lot of ground to try and pull off the catch. And the bright young talent ended up doing exactly that to give his team an important breakthrough.
