Watch: Ravindra Jadeja pushed back by umpire to signal six after he doesn't wait for boundary confirmation
The El Classico of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the game between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, lived up to its reputation on Thursday (April 21). It turned out to be a last-ball thriller with the calm and cool MS Dhoni taking his team over the line for the umpteenth time in his career.
The match was filled with brilliance from individuals and small incidents as well. One of them was the umpire stopping CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja from bowling during the 11th over in order to give a pending decision from the previous ball.
Tilak Varma slog swept the bowler to the cow corner off the second delivery even as the ball landed on the full on the ad cushions. Moeen Ali, not playing the game, was standing right there outside the boundary and signalled six. Generally, the third umpire is consulted to clear the confusion but with Moeen signalling six, many thought the on-field umpire adjudged the same.
However, that wasn’t the case, they checked the replay and when third umpire directed, then only the on-field umpire gave it a six. In the meantime, unknown about the developments, Ravindra Jadeja was ready to bowl his next delivery and began his run-up as well.

As far as the game is concerned, it was filled with action as Tilak Varma’s century propelled MI to a competitive total of 155 runs in their 20 overs. In reply, CSK stumbled as well on various occasions with no set batter carrying on to play till the end. However, Dwaine Pretorius and MS Dhoni made sure they got over the line.
While the former brought the equation down to 17 runs off the last over with his pyrotechnics, Dhoni was as usual calm to win CSK the game in the last over off Jaydev Unadkat. With this loss, MI are more or less out of IPL 2022 with seven losses in as many matches, while CSK are still alive with two win in seven outings.
