He is the second-highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2025.
With three out of four wins in the Asia Cup 2025, Bangladesh have looked like a strong contender to beat India in the Asia Cup 2025. However, ahead of the BAN vs IND Super Four clash, the participation of skipper Litton Das is uncertain.
On September 22, two days before the crucial clash, Litton pulled a back strain while training at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. The right-handed batter felt discomfort on the left side of his back while attempting a square cut. Eventually, Litton had to stop the training session and get the extent of his injury checked by the physios.
A BCB official informed Cricbuzz, “We will have a look at him [Litton Das] today because from outside he looks quite okay, but we need to conduct a medical assessment before making a final call.”
While the 30-year-old skipper would presumably be fit to play, should the worst happen, Bangladesh would be in deep trouble.
Bangladesh will go head-to-head with India on September 24 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

To begin with, Litton Das is the second-highest scorer for the team with 119 runs. He has registered 23, 9, 28, and 59 so far in the multi-national tournament.
The No.3 batter has pulled Bangladesh out of dire situations on multiple occasions. One such batting collapse was seen against Sri Lanka in the league-stage fixture. Though Litton made just 28 off 26, his knock came at a crucial point for the team. The captain anchored Bangladesh’s innings while wickets fell regularly at the other end, however, it ended in their only loss of the series.
The keeper-batter also has five catches to his name from behind the stumps.
In 19 T20Is this year, Litton has amassed 536 runs with the help of four half-centuries so far. Though his strike rate lingers in the 130s, not the best in the shortest format of the game, the team is dependent on Litton’s resilience.
Moreover, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are yet to announce a deputy in case Litton has to sit out.
Bangladesh started their Super Four journey with a win over Sri Lanka. After India’s fixture, Bangladesh will face Pakistan. Currently, they are just behind India as the only unbeatable side in the Super Four.
