Aiden Markram will lead the T20I side, while Temba Bavuma will captain the ODI team. Both players missed the Zimbabwe tour as they were rested after the WTC 2025 final. Kagiso Rabada and Ryan Rickelton also return to the squad.
“It’s great to have our senior players back in the mix after their rest following the World Test Championship final. Their experience and quality add real value to the group as we continue to build a strong core in both formats,” South Africa Head Coach Shukri Conrad said.
It will be an important tour for South Africa as they look to test their squad balance ahead of upcoming ICC tournaments.
“Every series from here on plays a part in shaping our squads for next year’s T20 World Cup and the 50-over World Cup at home in 2027,” he added.
Dewald Brevis and Lhuan-dré Pretorius have been included in the ODI squad. Pretorius has received his first call-up to the 50-over format, while Brevis, who was in the ODI squad for the 2023 home series against Australia, is still waiting to make his debut.
Both players will look to build on their T20I and Test experience as they continue to grow at the international level. They were part of the Zimbabwe tour, which included a Test series and a T20I tri-series.
