Tension between the teams in the ongoing ENG vs IND Test series has already been evident with tempers and words flying around since the third Test at Lord’s. With the fate of the series yet undecided, the ongoing final Test at The Oval hasn’t been any different with emotions getting the better of the players. What happened was on the final over of the Day, Sai was trapped lbw by Gus Atkinson. Although he challenged the decision and went for a review, replays only confirmed the on-field umpire’s decision as the Indian batter had to walk back. While he headed towards the dugout, England opener Ben Duckett tried to provoke Sai which prompted the Indian No.3 to turn back. The duo came extremely close and exchanged words as the situation in the middle got heated up before Harry Brook and stand-in England captain Ollie Pope intervened to mediate.

While Sai and Duckett’s exchange was the final act of an already enterprising day, there were few other incidents that spiced things up in the middle.
Prior to this, Joe Root and Prasidh Krishna got into a verbal spat which ultimately required the umpire’s intervention. KL Rahul too was left off with a warning after a squabble with umpire Kumar Dharmasena.
There was another incident involving Ben Duckett when Akash Deep gave the England opener a send-off by putting his arm around the shoulder and said some words which attracted criticism regarding the act.

Speaking about the ENG vs IND 5th Test, Sai Sudharsan’s wicket in the last over of the day tipped the momentum in favour of the hosts at stumps.
India finished Day 2 with the scoreboard reading 75/2, managing a lead of 52 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who hit his third fifty of the series and nightwatchman Akash Deep will resume India’s batting on Day 3.
Earlier in the day, Indian bowlers scripted a terrific fightback to keep the visitors in the contest after England opener Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett looked like they would almost take away the game. Responding to India’s first innings score of 224. Crawley and Duckett came out all guns blazing and stitched a fiery 92-run opening stand during which the run-rate touched 8.0 at one point. However, the pace duo of Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj made amends after the initial carnage by England, picking up four wickets apiece as the Three Lions were bundled out for 247, managing a slender 23-run lead.
