Star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who was ruled out of the final fixture of the series with a fractured toe, has descended to eighth. India’s skipper and the Player of the Series, Shubman Gill, has also dropped down four spots to be placed at 13th.
Furthermore, Ravindra Jadeja has held his position of No.1 in the ICC Test all-rounder rankings. But his fellow teammate, Washington Sundar, slipped to 16th after dropping three spots.
Jaiswal is currently the top-ranked Indian batter in the ICC Test batting rankings. The youngster scored 411 runs in five matches at an average of 41.10, including two centuries and as many fifty-plus scores. Moreover, Siraj has also surpassed Ravindra Jadeja to become the second Indian bowler in the rankings after the prime pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
The 31-year-old scalped a total of 23 wickets, including two five-wickets hauls, in the recently concluded England vs India Test series. He is the only pacer to play all five matches and also bowled a gruelling 185.3 overs throughout the red-ball series. However, despite featuring in only three matches of the England tour to manage his workload, Bumrah has retained his place as the No.1 bowler in Tests.
