The IND vs WI 2nd Test in Delhi took a dramatic turn after John Campbell and Shai Hope struck centuries in the third innings. The West Indies avoided a follow-on and gave India a target of 121 runs in the fourth innings. However, the fast bowlers faced the wrath, including Mohammed Siraj who collpased in the dugout. He later received ‘King’ treatment in the dugout.

India bowled more than 175 overs across three days of the Test match. Overall, Mohammed Siraj bowled 29 overs of pace. He took three wickets and gave away a total of 59 runs. Since the morning of Day 4, the bowlers shared 69.5 overs among them.

Siraj, with the wicket of Hope in the 84th over, completed 37 scalps this year. In the process, he became India’s leading wicket-taker in 2025 in this format.

After a six-over spell before lunch, Mohammed Siraj collapsed in the dugout and received immediate help while Delhi was soaring to 30°C. One of the support staff member was massaging his foot, while the other kept an ice bag on Siraj’s head and face. The incident happened after the 94th over.

“What we see right now, the fast bowlers being treated like kings after a hard spell. It’s the same case everywhere, by the way,” Dinesh Karthik said from the commentary box.

India Dug Their Own Grave by Enforcing a Follow-On Against West Indies

After centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, India declared innings at 518. They aimed at an innings win, and thereby, restricted the visitors to 248. With more than 200 runs to chase, West Indies continued to bat in the third innings. However, they forged a strong comeback.

Despite two early wickets, John Campbell recorded his maiden Test hundred. He went onto score 115 and Shai Hope’s 103 helped the Windies cross the 200-run mark with wickets still in hand, and the latter on the crease. They went on to lead and give a target of 121 runs to India.

Kuldeep followed up his fifer with a three-wicket haul. However, India should’ve bowled tighter spells to not let the visitors post a lead.

Now, in order to win, India must chase down the remaining runs. However, what could’ve been an innings defeat, has now went on to the last day of the Test match. At Stumps, India are 63/1 with KL Rahul (25) and Sai Sudharsan (30) unbeaten on the field. India should look to finish things off the first session on Tuesday.
