India A take on South Africa A in the first unofficial Test at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru. The match also serves as good preparation for some of the regular players ahead of the upcoming Test series between India and South Africa in November.
South Africa A ended Day 1 on 299/9. They started well, reaching 108/1 in the first session, but India A bowlers made a strong comeback. Tanush Kotian led the fight with four wickets, while Manav Suthar took two. Anshul Kamboj, Gurnoor Brar, and Khaleel Ahmed picked up one wicket each. For the visitors, Jordan Hermann scored 71, Zubayr Hamza made 66, and Rubin Hermann added 54.
Just few minutes before tea, Jordan Hermann was given out leg-before while trying to defend on the front foot against Tanush Kotian. He departed after scoring 71 runs. Kotian picked up his second wicket as South Africa A ended the second session at 193 for 4 in 51 overs.
During the 44th over Marques Ackerman steps down the track and hits it straight to the midwicket fielder in the infield. Tanush Kotian gets the wicket as Ackerman departs for 18. Rubin Hermann walks in to join his brother Jordan Hermann at the crease. SA A are 176/3 after 44 overs.
South Africa A posted 108/1 at Lunch on Day 1 of the 1st unofficial Test against India A, with Anshul Kamboj being the only wicket-taker.
Zubayr Hamza reached his half-century and remained unbeaten on 56 off 83 balls, while Jordan Hermann stayed not out on 42 off 76. South Africa A dominated the first session on Day 1 with a solid partnership.
