Ayush Mhatre, Vaibhav Suryavanshi Headline India Squad for ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced a strong Indian squad for the upcoming U19 Asia Cup. Ayush Mhatre has been named the captain of the team, and players like Vaibhav Suryavanshi have also been included in the squad.
Teenage talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who impressed with his hitting in the Rising Stars Asia Cup, will lead India’s top-order batting. Vihaan Malhotra has been named vice-captain for the tournament.
The event will help the team prepare for the U19 World Cup in Zimbabwe and Namibia in January-February next year.
Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi missed the ongoing U19 50-over tri-series in Bengaluru, with Ayush playing in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai and Vaibhav in the Rising Stars Asia Cup.
Anvay Dravid, son of Rahul Dravid, was not picked for this U19 Asia Cup but is part of the tri-series in Bengaluru.

India, placed in Group A, will start their campaign against a qualifier on the opening day, followed by the big clash against Pakistan.
The ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup Qualifiers 2025 has 14 teams, including Bahrain, Hong Kong, Iran, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, and the UAE. These teams will compete for three spots in the main tournament. The top two teams and the third-place winner will qualify.
The tournament starts on December 12, with the final on December 21. The best two teams from each group will move to the Super 4s.
