Rinku Singh Pulls off an Amazing Helicopter Shot off a Short Ball [WATCH]

Saqib bowled a back-of-a-length delivery to Rinku Singh, who came into the position quickly and hooked it behind the square.

Rinku Singh hit a magnificent six off Saqib Mahmood on the fifth delivery of the sixth over during the 4th T20I in Pune. It was such a crafty work from the batter, who placed it as brilliantly as possible.

Saqib bowled a back-of-a-length delivery to Rinku Singh, who came into the position quickly and hooked it behind the square. A fielder was placed at the deep square leg, but Rinku rolled his wrists at the end to hit it finer and away from the fielder for a maximum.

The ball had enough power to sail over the boundary and give six runs to the batter, who should be lauded for showing immense skillsets and game awareness. It was not an easy shot to execute, but Rinku is highly skilled against pacers and again showed his superior expertise.

This is a shot MS Dhoni used to play nonchalantly during his peak days, and Rinku must have learnt some technique to impart similar power while trying the same stroke. The precision made Rinku’s shot one of the best in this series, for it’s never easy to place a hook shot precisely.

Rinku Singh departs after a well-made 30 on his return

Rinku Singh didn’t feature in the last two T20Is due to an injury but returned to the XI as soon as he got fit. When he arrived at the crease, India were in deep trouble, for they had lost three wickets in just the second over of the innings.

However, Rinku Singh came in at No.5 and tried to rebuild with Abhishek Sharma, who also looked good during his stay. The southpaw scored 30 runs in 26 deliveries, including four boundaries and a maximum, at a strike rate of 115.38.

He looked solid and set to score big, but Brydon Carse trapped him with a short delivery in the 11th over. Rinku should have stayed longer and taken the innings forward since he got the start.

However, his knock ensured India recovered after early blows and were on track to post a fighting total. The deck looks good, and India must score big enough to keep England under pressure.
