Meet Digvesh Rathi, Mystery spinner with the Sunil Narine action in LSG Playing XI vs Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is set to unleash 25-year-old mystery spinner Digvesh Rathi in their Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) opener against Delhi Capitals. He was picked up by the Sanjiv Goenka-owned side for his base price of INR 30 lakhs at the auction last November.
Interestingly, Digvesh has a run-up similar to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder and T20 legend Sunil Narine where he hides the ball behind his back.

Digvesh Rathi was a headache for batters in the Delhi Premier League
Digvesh Rathi hogged the limelight during the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2024) last year with his special art of hiding the ball before delivering it and he outfoxed many batters with it.
Digvesh’s leg-spin was instrumental in South Delhi Superstarz’s journey to the finals in the DPL. With 14 wickets in just 10 matches, he proved to be a crucial asset for the team. He finished as the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament and was also effective in containing the likes of Rishabh Pant.
Digvesh Rathi is a tall bowler who can also generate extra bounce, while his unpredictable variations make him a tricky bowler to face.
LSG’s overseas stars gives them a fiery start
Put to bat first, LSG’s foreign stars got them off to a flyer of a start against the Delhi Capitals bowlers. Aiden Markram started the onslaught early but failed to get going, departing on 15 after hitting a six and a four. However, Mitchell Marsh continued the aggression from the other end along with Nicholas Pooran’s fireworks.
At the time of writing this report, the LSG scoreboard read 94 for 1 in 7.3 overs.
