Gujarat Titans (GT) Pacer Fined for Breaching IPL Code of Conduct During SRH vs GT IPL 2025 Clash

He committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 and accepted the sanction.

Gujarat Titans’ pacer Ishant Sharma has been fined for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He has been docked 25% of his match fees and received one demerit point for committing the offence.

“Ishant Sharma, Bowler, Gujarat Titans has been fined 25 per cent of his match fees and has also accumulated One Demerit Point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Sunday.” read the official statement.

He committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 and accepted the sanction. This relates to any action(s) outside the course of normal cricket actions, such as hitting or kicking the wickets and any action(s) which deliberately (i.e. intentionally), recklessly or negligently (in either case even if accidental) results in damage to the advertising boards, boundary fences, dressing room doors, mirrors, windows and other fixtures and fittings.

For Level 1 breaches, the decision made by the match referee is final. This was Ishant’s maiden offence in the season, so he gets one demerit point and should be cautious in the coming times to avoid further sanctions.

Ishant Sharma endures another tough outing against SRH

Ishant Sharma endured an arduous outing against Sunrisers Hyderabad, ending as the worst bowler of the Gujarat Titans. He conceded 53 runs in four overs without taking any wickets in Hyderabad.

While other bowlers conceded 6.06 runs per over for the Titans, Ishant had an economy rate of 13.20 in the game. He conceded 34.86% of the team’s runs alone, and if he had bowled better, GT could have restricted the opponent to something around 140.

Overall, Ishant has snared only a solitary wicket while conceding 12.12 runs per over in three innings in IPL 2025. His economy rate has been 13+ in two of the three games, and he has easily been the worst bowler of his side.

GT have the likes of Gerald Coetzee and Gurnoor Brar in their squad, who can come in as replacements in the playing XI. Ishant can bowl well in patches but has always been vulnerable in the IPL, even though he has vast experience featuring for different teams.
