Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni received a warning from the umpire ahead of the ninth over by Noor Ahmad during the match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) tonight in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025).

The reason for this was that CSK had taken more than the allotted time of 60 seconds to resume the new over after the end of the last one.

According to IPL playing conditions, two offences in the same game equal to 5 penalty runs. In international cricket, it is three such warnings.

Speaking about the LSG vs CSK match so far, the MS Dhoni-led side managed to put early pressure on the hosts with some tidy bowling. Khaleel Ahmed struck in the first over to dismiss Aiden Markram while Anshul Kamboj got the better off danger-man Nicholas Pooran in the fourth over of the powerplay.

With two big wickets gone, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant stepped up to the occasion and formed a crucial fifty-run stand with Mitchell Marsh to rebuild the innings before the Aussie fell prey to Ravindra Jadeja in the 10th over.
