Jemimah Rodrigues Sets New Milestone With Fifty Against England in Second Women’s T20I
India’s Jemimah Rodrigues registered a notable half-century during the second women’s T20I against England in Bristol on Tuesday. With the fifty, Jemimah Rodrigues also registered her highest T20I score against England.
Jemimah Rodrigues’ entertaining knock
At the time of writing this report, Jemimah Rodrigues was batting on 59 runs from 36 balls. She was later dismissed for 63 runs from 41 balls, hitting nine fours and one six. Her previous highest T20I score against England was an unbeaten 44 that she made during the semi-final of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The 24-year-old walked out to bat at No.3 on Tuesday, following the dismissal Shafali Verma in the second over. India lost Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur too within the powerplay to leave them at 31/3 at one stage. However, Jemimah Rodrigues and Amanjot Kaur (52*) forged a 93-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
Jemimah Rodrigues reached her half-century in 33 balls, hitting seven fours and one six. That partnership helped India reach 124/4 as Jemimah Rodrigues was dismissed by Lauren Bell in the 15th over. This was Jemimah’s 13th half-century for India in T20Is.

Overall, the Mumbai-born cricketer has scored 2330 runs from 109 T20Is at a strike-rate of 116.68. Her highest score was a knock of 76 that came against Sri Lanka in the Women’s Asia Cup in 2022.
India aim to double the lead
India are looking to double their lead over England in the five-match series after a 97-run win in the first T20I. Smriti Mandhana had scored a hundred to take India to 210/5, a total which they successfully defended. England were all out for just 113 in 14.5 overs, with Shree Charani starring with four wickets.
