Washington Sundar Injury Update: Suryakumar Yadav Reveals Availaility of Star All-rounder for T20 World Cup 2026

The Washington Sundar injury update will be extremely important for the Men in Blue as they aim to defend the title in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026. Notably, the talented youngster suffered a rib-injury during the 1st IND vs NZ ODI and has since been on the sidelines.

With no replacements announced, it was understood that Sundar remained in the T20 World Cup 2026 plans and skipper Suryakumar Yadav has now revealed the all-rounder’s availability for India.

Speaking after India’s win over USA, SKY confirmed that Washington Sundar will join the Indian squad in Delhi, where the Men in Blue will play their next game against Namibia on February 12.

Speaking during the post-match presentation of the IND vs USA game, Surya said,

“Washi is joining us in Delhi. He’s good. Everything is fine.”

Although available, it remains to be seen if the management decides to play Washi against Namibia or opts for a cautious approach, with a contest against arch-rivals Pakistan lined up next on February 15. However, the high-octane match might not be played altogether after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made suggestions of boycotting the fixture on grounds of bilateral political relations.
