According to figures reported by CricBlogger, IPL coaching salaries have gone up a lot. In the early years, overseas coaches were earning around Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 2 crore. Today, some coaches are earning several times that amount.

Ricky Ponting and Ashish Nehra Among Highest Paid IPL Coaches

Ricky Ponting is currently the head coach of Punjab Kings and is reportedly the highest paid IPL coach, earning around Rs 9.5 crore every year.

Ponting earned around Rs 1.2 crore per year during his playing days, which is much less than his current coaching salary. He joined PBKS in September 2024 and helped them to reach the final in 2025 season.

Alongside Ricky Ponting, Ashish Nehra is also one of the highest paid coaches in the Indian Premier League. Nehra has been with Gujarat Titans since the franchise joined the league in 2022. He helped Gujarat Titans win the title in their first season and has taken them to 3 IPL finals in 5 seasons. He is reportedly earning close to Rs 9.5 crore per year.

Stephen Fleming Earned Rs 7.5 Crore as CSK Coach

Stephen Fleming played in the first IPL season before becoming the head coach of Chennai Super Kings in 2009. He helped CSK win 5 IPL titles and was reportedly earning around Rs 7.5 crore per year.

IPL 2026 was his last season with CSK, after which he has now joined to coach the England Test team.

Yuvraj Singh Set to Earn More Than Rs 6 Crore

Yuvraj Singh is reportedly set to join Delhi Capitals as their batting coach. He is expected to earn more than Rs 6 crore per year.

This will make him the second highest paid Indian coach after Ashish Nehra.

Zaheer Khan Earned Rs 5 Crore, Rahul Dravid Rs 4.5 Crore

Former India pacer Zaheer Khan was earning around Rs 5 crore per year during his time with Lucknow Super Giants, whereas Rahul Dravid was reportedly earning around Rs 4.5 crore per year as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals.

Andy Flower and Justin Langer Earn Rs 4 Crore Each

Andy Flower, who has been the head coach of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), is reportedly earning around Rs 4 crore per year. He helped RCB win their first ever IPL title in 2025 and then helped them win again in 2026.

Former Australia Cricketer Justin Langer is earning around Rs 4 crore per year as the head coach of Lucknow Super Giants. He took over the role before IPL 2024.
