South Africa Cricket have provided a Kagiso Rabada injury update, which is quite concerning for Proteas fans. This summer is going to be one of their biggest and most important ones, especially when it comes to their World Test Championship 2025-27 matches.
Kagiso Rabada Injury Update
South Africa’s key pacer Kagiso Rabada has suffered a right hamstring injury during winter training. The injury has disrupted his training programme, but it is still unclear whether he will be available for the upcoming season.
“Kagiso Rabada’s winter training program has been disrupted after he sustained a right hamstring injury during training earlier this week,” Cricket South Africa statement.
Proteas have a big challenge ahead against Australia
The Proteas will begin their international season next week with a tour of Namibia. They will play a T20I tri series involving Zimbabwe, followed by three ODIs against Namibia. Kagiso Rabada along with many other main team players were not included in the travelling squad.
However, the Proteas will face a much bigger challenge in September when they host Australia for three ODIs and three important Test matches. South Africa are currently second in the World Test Championship 2025-27 standings, while Australia are at the top. This makes the upcoming Test series very important.

South Africa hope for positive Kagiso Rabada injury update
Kagiso Rabada is one of the main bowlers for the Proteas across format. So, South African fans and the team management will be hoping for a positive Kagiso Rabada injury update. They will hope he recovers soon and is fit to play against Australia.
He has been out of red ball cricket since last year and also missed the series against India due to a rib injury. His last Test match was in October 2025.
Aside from this, spin bowling all-rounder Senuran Muthusamy has been ruled out of the first unofficial Test against Bangladesh A due to a lower back spasm. He is also one of the players who has been part of the Test setup in recent times.
