Rishabh Pant Injury Update – Will He Bat Again in SL vs IND 2nd Test?

India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has provided a Rishabh Pant Injury Update, and it is a positive news for fans. He injured his arm during the first innings of SL vs IND 2nd test at the SSC in Colombo.

On the first ball of the 58th over, Lahiru Kumara bowled a short delivery to Rishabh Pant, who went for the pull but only managed to glove it. The ball went down the leg side towards the keeper, but Pant was immediately in discomfort after taking the blow on his wrist. The physio quickly came out with an ice pack to prevent swelling.

After a lengthy delay, some tape was applied to Pant’s wrist before being removed. The umpire then checked on him, and Pant was forced to walk off retired hurt. Ravindra Jadeja came out to replace him.

It was a worrying moment for the team and fans, but after the match, batting coach Sitanshu Kotak provided Rishabh Pant Injury Update and said at the press conference that he will be fine to bat tomorrow. This is good news for India. So, if India lose another wicket tomorrow, Pant will come out to bat. When he left the field, he was on 3 runs off 15 balls.

After the end of the first day’s play, India finished on 300/5 in 85 overs. Dhruv Jurel 7 (21) and Saransh Jain 4 (5) were the two unbeaten batters at the crease.

KL Rahul was dismissed for just 18 runs earlier in the innings, while Yashasvi Jaiswal could not reach his half century and was dismissed for 45. Captain Shubman Gill scored his first half century of the series, but he was soon dismissed by Asitha Fernando.

However, it was once again Devdutt Padikkal who was the star batter for India, as he scored another century in the series. He hit 12 fours and scored 117 runs off 193 balls. Ravindra Jadeja also contributed with 43 runs.

With the positive Rishabh Pant injury update, India are in a good position and will be looking to score more than 400 runs. After Jurel and Saransh, Pant will probably come out to bat. India also have Manav Suthar, who can contribute, so there is still plenty of batting left in the lineup.
